VIZIO E260MV review
A 26 inch TV full HD from Vizio
Vizio guides itself by the following principle: “Entertainment freedom for all.” They opened business 9 years ago and have since produced what are considered America’s top selling LED LCD high-definition TVs and highest rated LCD HDTVs. The company’s TVs supposedly offer high definition entertainment and great performance, all at an affordable price. Does the new Vizio E260MV rise up to expectations? We took this device for a spin and here is our test and review.
1080p panel resolution
We will first mention some of this TV’s specifications, then some of its features.
The E260MV model comes with the following: 26″ Edge lit LED screen, 1080p resolution, 16.7 million colors, 60Hz Refresh Rate, 20,000：1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 5 ms Response Time, 26.04″ x 18.10″ x 8.60″ with stand / 26.04″ x 17.14″ x 2.88″ without stand, 6.85 kg with stand / 6.34 kg without stand, ECO HD, SRS TruSurround HD, SRS TruVolume, 2 x 5W Channels/Speaker Output, 2 HDMI with HDCP, 1 VGA, 2 set of Headphones, Ambient Light Sensor, Remote Control, 55W Power Consumption, <1W Stand-by Power, Energy Star 41 EIA/CEA-766-A, 2 AA batteries required, One Year Parts & Labor and Free Lifetime Technical Support. Like other Vizio TVs, this one is also mercury-free.
Razor LED edge lit LCD
Vizio’s E series are the first TVs to feature the Razor LED edge lit LCD. The E260MV is therefore slim, thin and modern looking, with a glossy black bezel. Controls are touch sensitive. This means that if you approach your hand to the device, they illuminate; if you take your hand away, they fade out.
When we’ve performed the test for the Vizio E260MV’s review, we were very pleased with its ability to analyze the lighting conditions in the room and automatically adjust to them thanks to its energy efficient sensors; this resulted in great pictures and beautiful colors. Furthermore, the 1080p resolution and the 20.000:1 dynamic contrast ratio produced very clear images, brighter whites and deeper blacks. Unfortunately, the remote control doesn’t come with a menu button; you’ll have to press the one on the bezel.
Good image and sound quality
Another plus for the E260MV TV that we encountered during our test: it produced very little heat when compared to other devices. But we experienced a problem with dust, which seemed to collect around the screen quite often; fortunately, picture quality didn’t have to suffer from it and it was easily removed with the right utensils.
The audio performance was fine; you can improve it by buying a speaker system. But for watching movies, it works well.
Another plus: the Vizio E260MV leaves a smaller carbon footprint on the environment than other TVs and it also helps you pay less for your utility costs.
In the end of our review, all we have to say is that the new Vizio E260MV is a great choice if you consider buying a TV that will offer good performance, comes with good-looks and has an affordable price.
