ViewSonic VX2450WM-LED

Viewsonic-VX2450WM-LED

One of the best ViewSonic monitors

Priced at only $160, ViewSonic VX2450WM-LED is considered to be one of the best creations ever made by Viewsonic. Unlike its mediocre “brothers”, VX2450WM, at least according to its users, it is one of the greatest 24” monitors, as it is cheap, full HD, and capable of showing really good images.
Curious? So was I when received the package with the screen to test for this review, as I was aware that ViewSonic was never a top screens producers; therefore, due to the feedbacks made by some of my online friends, I was really looking forward to getting it in order to make a full VX2450WM-LED review.

3 years warranty for the panel

Viewsonic-VX2450WM-LEDThirst of all, the 24″ screen looks just like all the screens from its category: big, flat and wide. However, it’s thin enough for the customers who use webcams that can only be placed on top of the screens to be satisfied.

Secondly, this LED monitor is quite light weight: 10 pounds (about 4.5 kg). The official measures are 22.3″ x 17.5″ x 8.5″, therefore you can see on your own that VX2340WM-LED is quite a big daddy. If it’s used according to the Viewsonic TOS, this screen is guaranteed up to 3 years. Though, the warranty can be extended by paying an extra fee, but only if the client desires this clearly.

Full HD resolution

Capable of running at a 1920x1080p Full HD resolution, ViewSonic is undoubtedly with one step ahead of its main competitors: for example, Samsung TVs use a 1680*1080 resolution for a similar class computer monitor.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have an HDMI output, fact that tells us that this TV was meant to be bought by average middle class people, who may not have (at least not all of them) HD equipment in their homes. However, the monitor is perfectly compatible with DVI-D and VGA, just like all the other screens from its class.

Good image quality in test

As concerning the image quality, I really can not reproach nothing: in our tests the images are clean, without shades or ghost images, the screen doesn’t provide any heat and so on. Curious, isn’t it? Considering that it is only $160, at least in my opinion, it is quite a good deal so far. More over, in case you were wondering about the contrast ratio, it is of an impressive 20,000,000:1 ratio. However, just like the other screens from its class, the response time is of 5 ms, and not of 1 ms, like the modern monitors. However, the users won’t feel actually any difference; therefore we can’t just say that it is a disadvantage.

Effective Power Saver

Finally, I must tell you that I’ve been quite impressed of the Power Saver feature. VX2450WM-LED actually consumes just like any Samsung monitor (Samsung it is a world leader if it comes to eco friendly monitors). It’s good to see these kind of pleasant surprises on the market, as this can mean only one thing: the competition level will rise, and therefore, we will be able in the near future to buy cheaper, and yet better panels.

Review conclusions

After our tests we have a conclusion of this review, Viewsonic VX2450WM is quite a good computer monitor, that is definitely worthy for its money. If you want to change your old display with a new one, than you got to consider VX2450WM-LED among your other choices.

Interesting :). It’s priced 225$ here in the Philippines. I do a lot of gaming and seeing it has a nice response time I’m actually thinking of getting one. But, I’m curious. What panel is it using? I’m aiming for a IPS LED panel.
