Sony KDL-32EX600 review
A full HD TV from Sony
When buying a new TV set we want to make sure we get the most benefits for the money we spend. The Sony KDL-32EX600 is a low end model which offers a great balance between performance and price. Is it worth ? Let’s see the test and review conclusions !:)
It’s important that a TV should have a pleasant design and in this respect the 32EX600 also delivers with a slim black body with sharp lines and placed on a swivel it has that attention to details you find in the more expensive models.
LED backlight technology
Firstly it must be said that the KDL32EX600 has the Sony edge LED backlight LCD technology that is a great catch at its price. This ensures that the images provided are clearer and whiter and that the contrast and color features are enhanced so as to render a very natural output for a great viewing experience. It also has many picture quality settings for you to adjust to your liking. Furthermore the LED edge-lighting and 32 inch screen make for little energy consumption which is a good advantage for every home nowadays and you can also lower the backlight manually if you like.
Adjustable display backlight
With regard to resolution this TV’s native resolution is 1080p Full HD but can handle all the standard NTSC formats. It did well in our black level test and has a good contrast ratio, but it did not produce as much white as other similar TVs. A downside would be its lack of an internet connection, access to streaming content and DLNA support. To compensate for this shortcoming the KDL-32EX600 from Sony has an USB media player option so that you can easily view content from portable media devices. It has 4 HDMI ports which is just enough to setup your own little home theatre. Another nice trick is that the screen adjusts itself depending on the lighting conditions of the room thanks to a special light sensor and you can adjusts all the settings yourself with a universal remote due to the Bravia Sync technology.
Good viewing angles
Taking into consideration that it is an LCD TV this model has a good viewing angle, which is always something we look for in a good TV set. The audio performance is also quite decent and it comes with a five-channel equalizer, leaving you the option to play around and make it sound the way you want.
The Sony KDL32EX600 has the option of playing back photos which have been stored on USB mass storage devices, Sony cameras and camcorders and allows you to view them one at a time or create a slideshow. If you’d like to listen to some music or watch a video clip there’s no problem, just make use of your mass storage device, Sony camera or camcorder and you’re set. However there might be a problem of compatibility if you wanted a particular file type, like .AVI or .WAV which are not supported by this model, so you had better check the manual before attempting to render a certain file.
After these tests we have a conclusion of this review for you. The Sony KDL-32EX600 is worth buying if you want to benefit as much as possible from the money you are willing to spend.
