iSymphony LC32iF90 review
A cheap 32 inch full HD TV from iSymphony
If you want to buy a HDTV without having to rob a bank in the process, then the iSymphony LC32iF90 might be the solution you’ve been waiting for. People who already bought it think very highly of it. But is it really such a great device? We tested it and here is what we have to say in this review.
Very good Dynamic Contrast Ratio
The LC32iF90 TV produced by iSymphony is a stylish black TV with a 32″ display that features full HD (1080p) picture and 1920 x 1080 native panel resolution. With its 10.4 kg, the device is among the light ones; we could easily move it from room to room. Measurements are as follows: 31.1″ x 22.7″ x 8.5″. The full HD resolution offered great widescreen (due to the 16:9 aspect ratio) viewing experience during our tests: images were very bright thanks to the display’s 500 cd/m2 luminance rating. The 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio translated into excellent true-to-life colors, whiter whites and blacker blacks; this was possible no matter what the light conditions were. We could easily adjust the picture color, contrast, brightness and sharpness to get the exact viewing conditions that we wanted.
A lot of connectors
The remote control of LC32iF90 looked cheap and we encountered some difficulties using it, but fortunately we could easily replace it with a better one; the menu was very easy to use. The documentation included in the box was very helpful.
As with other TVs we reviewed, the iSymphony LC32iF90 comes with a multitude of ports. On the back side bottom we found 2 HDMI, RCA type Composite vid input, RCA type Component vid input (YPbPr), VGA Port (PC input), PC Audio input, RCA type Left and right audio input, Headphone output, RCA type Coaxial orange color, A/C power socket and Cable/Antenna; the right side came with 3HDMI, RCA type Video and Left and Right Audio. The TV ships with a 400mm x 200mm pattern mounting option. All of these provided HD audio/video over the same cable, the possibility to use the TV’s display as a PC monitor, the possibility to send audio to our receiver/soundbar, gaming opportunities and much more.
Good audio performance
The display on this device provided a 5ms response time; this meant that watching fast-paced movies, sports competitions, playing games and the like didn’t result in blurs. Image updating was thus made in a very fast way. The audio performance was very good; the integrated surround system offered great bass and volume and voices were audible even in noisy backgrounds. If you have problems with it, you can connect the TV to another stereo system by means of the built-in headphone port.
Preinstalled NTSC/ATSC tuner
We were pleased to see that the iSymphony LC32iF90 doesn’t heat as fast as other TVs. We left it on for two hours and there were no problems. What we didn’t particularly like was the closed captioning, which was too small; if you have poor eyesight, this might make you choose another TV, because you won’t be able to enlarge the aforementioned captioning.
The preinstalled NTSC/ATSC tuner quickly found HD content for free; we were able to watch both local and major shows, movies and much more.
As we near the end of our test and review, one thing is certain: the iSymphony LC32iF90 is a great choice if you got tired of your old TV and want to buy a new one that will fit your room perfectly. This device works great and is affordable.
