HTC Sensation 4G

A new Android powered smartphone

If you were looking forward to a new HTC smartphone, we introduce to you HTC Sensation 4G. A lot of online blogs, specialized sites and customers think of it as the best device of its kind due to its better than awesome performance, appealing design, an array of features, battery, speed, Internet capabilities and many other options. On the other hand, some of its buyers have complained of the memory and sound quality. Here is our review.

Beautiful design

Newly released HTC Sensation 4G is, undoubtedly, a gem when it comes to how it looks. We have always considered this company’s smartphones among the most beautiful ones, and the newest addition we tested in our lab lives high to expectations. It looked and felt sturdy, especially since the team behind HTC built it from unibody aluminum. Its measurements when talking about weigh and size are similar to those of Samsung Galaxy II: 147g and 5″ x 2.6″ x 0.4″.
In the display department, the Sensation 4G is equipped with a superb 4.3″ Super LCD touchscreen. The latter has 540 x 960 pixels and 16:9 qHD. Images, text and colors were simply wonderful and it was easy to view even in direct sunlight; details were crystal-clear and it was very responsive when we started using it. HTC-Sensation-4G

QWERTY keyboard

When we held the device during our test, its contour design made it feel very nice against our cheek; when we placed it on a table with its display downside and picked it up again, we saw no scratches. Menus were user-friendly; all we had to do to open an app was to simply tap once. Sadly there was no Swype or Android keyboard, only the full QWERTY, compact or phone options. Fortunately we discovered something which acted as a Swype keyboard: the Trace feature. This one provided ease and great speed when typing.
On the right of the HTC 4G sit no controls; the left side houses a microUSB port and the volume button. A 3.5mm headphone jack and power key are placed on the top. There’s an 8-megapixel camera on the rear.

Impressive quality camera

Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the operating system used by this device. The features it comes with are varied and not boring at all. First of all we have all of the usual ones and then there is the possibility to personalize the display, add shortcuts to 4 of a user’s favorite applications, 3D carousel and much more.
In matters of camera, the HTC Sensation 4G’s 8-megapixel one comes with a lot of options, including dual LED flash, autofocus, effects and the like. It impressed us with the photos it took: they exhibited great sharpness, details and colors when outside and a bit soft ones inside; the videos we shot with it was decent.

Online services access

Now, even though the smartphone we tested is named Sensation 4G, the maximum download speed it reached was only 14.4Mbps. Since we are here, let’s see some of the apps this device comes preloaded with: Lookout, Google services, Peep Twitter client and T-Mobile TV.
Call quality was overall good, even in noisy environments. On the downside, speakerphone performance was bad.
The 1.520mAh lithium battery meant that we could use the smartphone for 8 hours after charging it.

Review conclusion

In conclusion of our review team, the new HTC Sensation 4G smartphone is top notch and should definitely not be disregarded if you are decided to buy one.
