Garmin Nüvi 1350LMT ‎

A dedicated GPS

All you people out there who love to ride your cars be it during the day or at night and find yourselves lost at some point while looking for a certain street or restaurant to eat in, prepare for the Garmin Nüvi 1350LMT GPS gadget launched this year. Almost every smartphone started to offer navigation directions as well besides their seemingly never ending possibilities – although they have yet to cook you food -, but this device tries to do its best for users who still believe in GPS units. Here’s our review on the Nüvi 1350LMT, complete with test results that we hope you’ll find helpful.

4.3 inch display

They’re still making gadgets providing personal navigation and the Garmin Nüvi 1350LMT breaks the mold by looking very appealing with all that rugged rubber it contains and the 2.9″ x 4.8″ x 0.6″ it measures. This model is in more ways than one similar to the 1390 made by the same company. The 4.3″ display is matte, with support for touch and total of 480 x 272 pixels, the same as other GPS gadgets. Placing this GPS device on the windshield of our car during this review happened in a matter of mere minutes, thanks to the two-piece mount complete with adhesive-backed disc included in the box. We expected this to change from previous version, but you’ll still have to make sure you disconnect the cable for power attached to the device.Garmin-Nüvi-1350LMT

The new Nüvi 1350LMT started quickly but took a while to find the location we needed it to lock onto; after it did locate the address, the performance was superb and never once did it slow down or need hours until it found what we told it to find. This GPS unit respects Garmin’s tradition of making points of interest searches extremely easy to do, a tradition helped by the following aspects: a QWERTY keyboard sporting lots of space for onscreen use, category definitions that are beyond smart and a database made of 6.000.000 points of interest at an entry level.

Signs for speed limit

It is great to let our readers know that this gadget makes it very easy to save favorites, look for POIs that are located in close proximity and other interesting possibilities. What was more, the Nüvi 1350LMT we got to test showed us both the direction and the distance needed for each point of interest after which it refreshed the info to better see what was in an unfamiliar neighborhood.

Stuff like animation and the graphics used for a map were carefully smoothed out to make for better view adjustments and optimization for zooming in as well as zooming out; it helps that the icons and fonts are full of color and sharpness. And, if you want to obey the law, the 1350LMT has signs for speed limit. Assistance for lanes is offered in two ways: by showing you where to go should you find yourself on a highway with 5 lanes and by producing a 3D view that indicates the right track to take.

Bluetooth mode

The voice that is used for prompting the user in the good direction is one of the best ones ever recorded. It gave us information in clear tones and none of the addresses was mispronounced. Among other features sported by this GPS gadget were the exceptional Bluetooth mode that made it possible to call someone over our phone, a JPEG viewer and a convertor for currencies.

We’ll never grow tired of saying that the Garmin incorporates very good batteries on its products, so the one on the latest 1350LMT offered 5 hours of use.

Review conclusion

What can be more useful than a GPS navigation system for when you want to find something or visit a foreign country? The Garmin Nüvi 1350LMT is such a device and we recommend it wholeheartedly.
