A 15 inch laptop from Asus

You are in for a real and one of a kind treat if you look for a laptop and are not quite sure which one to choose from the tones that are right now standing on shelves in various stores around this globe. But we haven’t yet mentioned what this treat is. It’s Asus’ recently hatched G53Sw-XA1. To ensure that consumers stick to their product and only to it, the company used all sorts of innovations. Which other devices do not feature. Yet. Gamers will find their heaven in the form of this mobile gaming tool. Here’s what we decided to write a review about the product based on tests.

LED backlight and 1080p resolution

The Asus Republic of Gamers G53SW-XA1 will no doubt spark up your interest with its design. Looks are the first thing, after price, that get to be noticed when you see a gadget somewhere. And you’ll be sure to notice this product’s design and remember it for a long time. The color on its body, keyboard and touchpad is black. The lid and the rear are also black. What got us all excited was that the absence of the shiny glossy aspect. So yay for not having to fight fingerprints on a daily, if not every minute, basis. Felt great. Yes, we’re not big fans of shiny laptops, cameras and so on. And a bit more about the design: it is a thermal one, which is unique on a laptop. This option makes air stay away from the user and thinks airflow is the most important factor.ASUS-G53Sw-XA1

The screen of the G53SW-XA1 is 15.6″. It has everything you might wish for: it’s LED-backlit and features full high definition pros. The type of playback it delivers is 1080p. The top quality of having such a display is that it makes you immerse in whatever you’re watching. We can actually say that that happened to us while testing the screen. The 1,920 x 1,080 pixels brought us even closer to what was happening in a movie.

Intel Core i7-2630QM processor

The keyboard is, as already reported, backlit. Writing our review in the dark with no lights on was great; we could easily see and press every single button. The typing experience was ergonomic; that genuinely helped when we played a game for many long hours. The touchpad did not escape our wondering eyes, so all we can say about it is that it is one heck of a touchpad. It is big enough to use and very responsive. Just like the keys on the keyboard.

The Asus G53SW-XA1 packs only great specs. Another example of that: a 2nd generation Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU. As if the excellent speed and multitasking weren’t enough, the company also added Turbo Boost 2.0 technology to the processor. These are both amazing and make the laptop do a fantastic job. GPU is Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M. The VRAM it sports is 1.5GB. DirectX 11 gaming is, thus, facilitated.

Sound during games is delivered in an exceptional fashion. All that thanks to a technology called EAX Advanced HD 5.0 Audio; also thanks to a pair of great stereo speakers. The battery of this product can handle around 4 hours. There are, of course, much better laptops when it’s down to battery life.

Review conclusion

The Asus Republic of Gamers G53SW-XA1 is definitely a laptop that wants to cater to gamers’ needs. It doesn’t fail at that. Not at all.
