Adobe Photoshop Elements 10
An advanced image editing software
If you always dream of using a photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop, but you aren’t quite convinced that you are willing to pay for it a fortune, then you can always opt for the more “amateur” version of the package, namely the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. The advantages of buying such a software pack are numerous, but we will only name the main two that might convince you to buy it: it’s cheaper than a professional pack and it also fits the needs of the novice photographers and intermediate level photographers as well as the professionals.
When in “Full Edit” mode, it is strikingly similar to Adobe Photoshop, so for those of you who had some kind of past experience with the software, you might enjoy this cheaper version as well. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to call it a tool fit for novices unless it was able to offer a large range of quick effects and fix tools along with the Guided Edit Mode and the Quick Edit Mode which will make the tasks of many novice photographers that much more easier.
You can free download the trial version of Photoshop Elements 10 from the Adobe official website. During our testing session, we found that the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 is a very well-rounded tool for all the activities a photographer may be faced with. The Organizer will catalogue all your photographs collection and will aid you in enhancing you photo quality or help you create a series of greeting card, photo books or any other presentation mode you may think of.
New enhancements introduced
You can get the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on its own or in package with the Premiere Elements 10 (which we have reviewed a while back, it is the video editing tool from Adobe). The Organizer tool, is functional for both programs, so don’t be worried when you see that you will also have some restricted video-editing tools as well, even if you choose to buy the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 alone.
At the end of this review you must know that a list of new enhancements is added in the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10’s list of features for both the Editor and the Organizer as well. The Organizer tool has some new visual search tools which cleverly analyze the images; so everyone will now have a “healthier” alternative to introducing numerous keywords for each photograph in order to be found faster when needed.
Guided Edit effects tool
New enhancements are added for social networks as well. You can either upload videos directly to YouTube or tag photos in accordance to your Facebook friends list. The list continues with a new set of 30 Brush patterns and effects found in the Elements 10 editor which can be simply applied directly to your selected photos. You’ll also have a set of three Guided Edit effects in case you want to learn and enhance the photo quality in the same time.
You’ll also be able to test out some new overlays for the Crop tool which helps you to compose the photos in a more effective manner according to the Golden Mean and the Rule of Thirds; text is also much easier to insert to the outline of a shape, selection or even to a path.
If you are planning to use it for creating greetings cards or calendars, you’ll be happy to learn that it adds a longer list of text effects for you to test out.
